Five more postal units for DFCC Vardhana Bank
Friday, December 04, 2009, Colombo: DFCC Vardhana Bank, the everyday banking unit of the pioneer Development Bank, DFCC Bank, added five more branches to its rapidly growing postal unit network. The addition of the new postal units in Eppawala, Galewala, Kekirawa, Na Ula and Thambuththegama brings DFCC Vardhana’s postal unit network to a total of twenty-six [26].
Postal units offer almost the same facilities available at DVB’s general bank branches, offering everything from savings accounts to fixed deposit facilities. A key feature at postal units is that Fixed Deposits for values below Rs. 1 million are offered a rate of 1% higher than the current market rate.
With the establishment of postal units, DFCC Vardhana Bank aims to bring its commercial and financial services closer to its customers and make them more accessible across the country. The Bank’s 67-strong branch network covers almost every district in the country, enabling a wide coverage and offers a large spectrum of financial products and services to customers.
Postal units are geared to provide savings and other deposit products, cheque deposits, Vardhana Junior account openings and acceptance of deposits, outward remittances and a host of other services.
